About Us
WIPAHS started in the month of Ramadhan, in 1984, when a group of friends decided solely to improve the well being of fellow human beings and the local community from medical to community development.
This group of believers started work by distributing books, Quraans, learning aids and Islamic Books to local schools and Madressahs. It was noted that the literacy levels was very low. The local population and especially the Muslims lived in abject poverty and in many areas visited it was difficult, if not impossible to get excess to clean water.
This observation inspired the idea of digging wells in remote areas, especially near mosques, Madressahs, Schools, and populated villages. This was the start of our well projects. The members were also forced to review their activities and it was decided to give special attention to the aspect of education and women. This is when when the members initiated the Wali Ul Asr Education Centre (W. E. C.) Today our activities are divided into Education, Wells, Medical, Social-Welfare and Tabligh.
We believe that it is our humanitarian, social and religious obligation to cater for the under-privileged. We hope that through our activities, we can play a role in the eradication of poverty and propagation of peace, love and unity.
