WIPAHS was started in 1980’s, when few members of the community thought of improving the conditions of the indigenous community, who were suffering severely from poverty and illiteracy.

And when we started visiting their villages, homes, mosques , madressas etc. we witnessed the situation of most of these people was miserable, and were in desperate  need of help.

With our meagre financial resources, and few dedicated people we started a few projects for their upliftment. And as we were getting closer to them, we discovered, the biggest hindrance in welfare was lack of proper education, especially in Muslim community.

As it is said the biggest enemy of human beings among others are mainly three, Iliteracy, disease and poverty. And the main remedy for these three enemies is education, so if we can start education projects, there will be possibilities of breaking the vicious circle of three enemies.

Alhamdulillah with the grace of Almighty (s.w.t.) and infallible Leaders, we have 21 projects, classified in 6 categories:-

		Social Welfare:- Welfare assistance to poor whereby we try to pay their medicals, fees, fees for orphans, rent and any other needs that may arise. We also try to give them small loans which they pay back. Besides, we also visit destitute centres, Hospitals, Orphans and Widows centre for the distribution of fruits etc. especially during Shahre Ramadhan, food packets are distributed to various centres and Iftaar programs are organzed in various centres.
		Health:-Under this project we provide medical assistance especially through the project called: Give Eyesight to the blind”, in which we arrange eye camps and cataract operations are conducted.
		Economic upliftment: In order to make the citizens self sufficient, we provide them with sewing machines or bicycle on 50 % loan, so as to give them a valuable asset and a means of living which increases their standard of living. Cash loans are also provided.
		Education: We provide education assistance to students, loan, and we have a mammoth educational institution in Kibaha. Under which 5 schools are running with about 1500 students, namely:- 1. Nursery School for Boys and Girls 2. Primary School for Boys and Girls 3. Coast Teachers training institute 4. Secondary School for Boys and Girls 5. High School for Boys and Girls. All these Schools are situated in Kibaha Area where we have vast piece of land.
		Tabligh: - WIPAHS ladies section conducts various lectures, seminars, religious and social gatherings to raise awareness of social and moral responsibilities among the women. Our propagation project also includes the distribution of Holy Quran, religious books literature, video cassettes are distributed to schools, colleges, libraries and other organizations.
		Water Projects:-  water is life and it is one of the biggest problem in Tanzania. especially ladies walk miles to fetch water. Our water project runs under Ashura Tube well and Kerballa Shallow well sponsorship project. WIPAHS have dug about 380 shallow wells and 200 Tube wells.
